Frequently asked questions

Is there a minimum or maximum amount of clothes I can donate?

No, we encourage you though to take a good look at your wardrobe and donate as many clothes you don’t wear anymore. We’re happy to pick up a box or ten boxes. However, we’re trying to do right by the environment in terms of carbon emissions as well, so just keep in mind that a drive to Staten Island for a couple of old pairs of jeans is stretching the limits of “sustainability”. Likewise, if you have more than ten boxes, please give us a heads up so we have the appropriately sized pickup vehicle ready!

Do I have to pay anything for the donation pick-up?

Absolutely not. On the contrary, we give our donors gift cards, vouchers, or other giveaways to thank them for helping achieve our mission to reduce the amount of landfilled clothing! After we pick up your clothes we will send you an email about your reward to the email you provided when you scheduled your appointment.

Are there any drop-off locations?

Soon! We can’t wait to announce our new drop-off locations in New York City in October 2021!

In what boroughs of New York can I schedule a pick-up?

All five boroughs of New York City: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, and Staten Island.

What kind of clothes can I donate?

You can donate unused and used articles of clothing, accessories, and home textiles such as bedsheets, towels, drapes, etc. We don’t discriminate! You can donate women’s, men’s, children’s, baby’s… any type of clothing or textile.

Do you accept clothes in all states of wear?

Pretty much. We do not accept clothes that are moldy, heavily stained, or excessively damaged. But for the most part, we accept (and can reuse or recycle) any clothing. Don’t be shy, we just ask that no matter what you donate, all unused and used clothes should have been washed recently before pickup.

Can I schedule a pick-up during
COVID-19 pandemic?

Yes! You can donate clothing during covid. For our safety protocols, please see our COVID-19 page here.
