Sustainability Spotlight: O2 Monde

Time for another “The Sustainability Spotlight”!

This week we would like to proudly introduce O2 Monde, a New York-based (but Italian-made) high-end vegan shoe brand founded in 2020, and showcase their genuine and holistic approach to sustainability.

O2 Monde founder, Mirco Soccia leaves no stone unturned when exploring in what ways he can make his creations friendly for people and the planet while staying timeless and unique. His designs combine luxury and expert craftsmanship with ethics and transparency of production.

Mr. Soccia put the years of his experience working with luxury footwear companies such as Bottega Veneta, Belstaff, and Tory Burch into creating a genuine and intentional model of a brand that takes clean end ethical shoe creation very seriously. To make the shoes eco-friendly he replaced animal leather with plant-based, innovative vegan leathers that are made from the wine industry’s grape waste or pineapple skins. But that is not all! He also has found sustainable alternatives to almost all shoe components, including soles, insoles, adhesives, and packaging. What is also important is how the shoes are made. O2 Monde footwear is carefully crafted in a premier Italian factory, where local artisans are paid a living wage and work in safe and fair conditions.

O2 Monde won our hearts with the innovative materials they are using in their pieces, all of which are sustainable, plant-based or recycled, and traceable. Italian-made quality that is as sustainable as possible! Check out their website for detailed information about their mission, materials, and factories they work with. Make sure to read their journal as well! Their entries showcase their passion and intent on spreading the word about sustainability and ethics and helping create a better future.

We just finished a February giveaway with O2 Monde and we are looking forward to future events and activities that we will jointly organize together! Stay tuned!
